I have experience with counseling families that predates my actual counseling career. It started when I became a teacher and helped parents work with the changing needs of their children. I still help families just from a different point of view. When the parents are happy the family is happier. As my favorite marriage and family therapist Murray Bowen would have said, one person changing in the system can change the system.
My first career was as a teacher but I found I wanted to do more to help families, which is why I became a Marriage and Family Therapist. We go through many changes as an individual, part of a couple and family, sometimes we need help navigating those changes and making healthier new ones.I believe counseling is based on where you are in your journey, the goals you want to reach, and the things you need to say. My job is to help you figure out how to get there, how to reach them and how to say them.
I work with residents and interns as I am a believer in giving back to the profession. You can find out more about who is working with our group by visiting the website. You can also make appointments directly by visiting the website.
