I am a certified EMDR therapist whose passion is helping others get to the other side of depression & anxiety by working through past traumas (big and small). EMDR became my passion when I saw how quickly it could help others move past their past and create a better narrative about their lives. Life is a story and I want to help you re-write and close past chapters in order to be able to create and enjoy new ones.

I’m Kayleigh (she/her) – millennial, Harry Potter fanatic, cat mom, loving girlfriend, and Orange County native. I’m a Virgo and a Hufflepuff which means I value and try to embody honesty, loyalty, inclusivity, patience, kindness and hard work. I love breaking down big goals into small steps, checking things off of lists and trying to better myself a little bit every day. I’m a recovering perfectionist and over-thinker. It’s easy for me to get lost in my thoughts that take me to the past or the future – I am avidly working towards practicing mindfulness and staying grounded in the here and now! I’m an extroverted introvert which means I love one-on-one time with others but recharge best with alone time.

I believe that our present problems are a direct result of past experiences (chapters) that have created and reinforced a negative belief system. If you’re reading this and can identify with having negative thoughts about yourself, feel stuck in the past or anxious about the future, you are in the right place!

I specialize in the treatment of trauma – from the small t’s (break ups, job loss, tough family dynamics) to the big t’s (combat trauma, sexual assault, childhood abuse). Trauma is really any experience that feels overwhelming, triggers strong negative emotions, or involves a sense of powerlessness and vulnerability. If trauma is left untreated (i.e. shoved down, ignored, or left constantly simmering) it can lead to long-lasting effects like PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, phobias, and bad habits. If you can identify the past traumas that continue to impact you, or are open and willing to figuring it out, I can help you! Life is too short to be miserable – let’s nerd out a little and conjure up our own Patronuses to combat the Dementors in our lives.
