About me
Each of us deserves to feel truly seen and able to connect to meaning and joy in our lives. Often past experiences, expectations, stigma, and negative beliefs can get in the way of this. I believe that therapy can help to re-connect with one’s inner resources and create a path forward.
I use a client-centered, trauma-informed, integrative approach. I draw from several therapies and practices and tailor my style for each individual’s needs and interests. I often incorporate EMDR, a valuable tool to assist with re-processing experiences that negatively affect one's sense of self by tapping into the brain's natural tendency to move towards healing and adaptive processes. Frequently current difficulties have been shaped by past experiences and during sessions we may reflect on these to better understand them and how they have impacted current emotions, patterns, and behaviors. We can then work to shift these and to increase feelings of safety in the present moment. Throughout my work I incorporate self-compassion, mindfulness, and attunement to feelings and sensations in the body.
My style is collaborative, warm, and relational. I believe you should be able to bring your whole self to therapy. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, WPATH certified, and kink and poly friendly. I strive to bring a feminist, social justice, and antiracist lens to my work. I provide assessments for letters of support for gender-affirming medical treatment when needed.
