Katelyn Smith, LMHC
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
A Creative take on Counseling
What brings you to therapy? That is always one of my first questions when I start with a new client. Although their answers may be different, the goal is almost always the same: ‘I see that something needs to change and I am unsure how to do it’. I see my role as a therapist as a ‘birds eye view’ without the personal bias of friends/family and with this view we can work together to find a path through some of life’s many challenges.
My name is Katelyn Smith and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have 7 years of experience working with children, adults and families, working through stressors such as depression, anxiety, life transitions and trauma.
My goal is to create a safe, collaborative and caring therapeutic environment in order to assist you in meeting your goals and finding a way towards a happier/healthier future. I utilize several approaches such as solution focused, cognitive behavioral, EMDR, and play/creative therapy in order to process each clients unique therapy goals.
It is my belief that there is no 'one size fits all' in the therapy process so my goal is to work with you to find the strategies that work best for you. Through analogies, imagery and education, my goal is to help clients better understand their mental health and make positive changes in order to live a happier and healthier life.
