About me
Hi there! I’m Kat and I really love watching the growth that is possible with therapy.
I primarily work with those seeking treatment due to anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood related conditions, and various trauma experiences- trauma is relative and no trauma is “too small” to deal with.
My background is in psychology with a concentration in clinical and neuro psych, I also have a masters in social work with a clinical focus. I use an eclectic approach, which really just means I pull from a bunch of theories and approaches in my treatment. I’ve worked in a variety of setting from hospice to inpatient psych. I’m obsessed with human resilience- so if you’ve made it far enough in your mental health journey to seek help, be it for the first time or the 10th, I’m incredibly proud of you and hope that you can see the resilience in that too. I work holistically to make sure the entirety of a person is getting what they need. I want us to work with each other to piece together the past with the present and future. I’m a Certified Trauma Professional and I have extensive experience working with individuals who engage in self-harm and/or suicidal ideations.
Some quick facts about me: I hate cilantro. I’m a ginger (soul intact). I’m happily medicated for my own mental health. I’m a partner, and a mom to 2 humans and 4 animals. I only run if I’m being chased. I think we’d all be a lot happier if we approached life with a culturally sensitive outlook and embraced each others differences. I’m non-religious but was raised in a religious household and see the value it has in the lives of others, so I’ll never shy away from the conversation. Reading is my favorite form of escapism. One of my favorite things in the world is the “ah-ha!” moment that clients have when they’re able to put two seemingly unrelated things together. I like having difficult conversations and challenging my clients to get uncomfortable to really process what’s going on. So there you have it, a bunch of random things about me. If you’re still with me and think we’d work well together, feel free to reach out. We can do a consultation (free, 15 minutes) and go from there.
