About me
Providing compassionate support for those struggling with substance use and accompanying mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and symptoms of trauma.
Let me begin by saying that the very fact that you are right here, right now, searching for a counselor to guide you on the path to healing is a HUGE first step. Congratulations on making the first move in the direction of positive life changes!
As for me, after earning my master’s degree in counseling, I spent the first years of my career in a school setting, working with children and their families to overcome academic, social, or emotional challenges. Over the past four years, I have worked as the lead clinician in an outpatient treatment program for women who struggle with substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and codependency. I have also supported these women as they navigate difficult issues such as grief and loss, disruption of their relationships with their children, and the stigma they have felt as someone living with addiction.
As a therapist, I believe in your power to discover your own Truths and to find meaning in even the most difficult circumstances. I also believe in the power of humor to heal and in the power of connection to comfort. I will help you identify unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with ones that empower, and I will assist you in forming healthy new habits, while leaving those that no longer serve you behind. I stand ready to offer a listening ear, a caring heart, and a steadying hand as you embark on the journey to restore your inner resilience and recover your life.
