About me
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who, like the other therapists at Blackbird Counseling, works with individuals, couples and families, with a variety of ages, to improve their lives and relationships.
At Blackbird Counseling, we believe that people are the experts of their own lives and deep down, hold the keys to unlocking the lives they want to have. We view the role of a therapist as a guide to walk with you on your journey and help you access your strengths. We encourage open-minded thinking and are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and healing environment.
My personal approach to therapy is that I believe that long-lasting change occurs when there is a shift in the way those who are emotionally connected interact with each other. I view the couple or family as a whole system instead of focusing on one individual and bring to light the dynamics of the relationships. I draw from a variety of family systems practices, primarily looking at the way that
communication occurs, emotions are experienced and expressed, and bringing to the forefront the natural strengths clients bring to their relationships.
