About me
I have a masters degree in social work and 25 years experience in social work and social work management serving women & children in a variety of settings. I am dedicated to helping you improve your quality of life. I specialize in disordered eating and negative disrupted body image issues. I have extensive experience supporting my clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss & grief and money issues. At the start of our work together, I will gather a full history on your body and food story as well as your family relationships. I will use this info to understand how your current struggles formed & what messages you received about your body, food, and your health throughout your life. We will work together to find out what makes you feel comfortable & safe in your body as well as your daily interactions. We'll talk about how to tune in to your physical & emotional cues to learn to feed yourself well, develop your inner body nurturer & tend to your emotional needs.
I believe everyone is capable and deserving of growth and healing. I believe people can create and design the life they desire through effort and support. I believe there is a positive intent in all of our challenges. I believe failing is a part of success. I believe holistic practices and interventions for the physical body and the subtle body are very effective and powerful interventions to address our current problem areas. I believe everyone should have access to affordable and quality mental healthcare. Kindness is my religion and earth is my home. I cherish diversity. Politically I am for peace, justice, equality and humanity. My house plants are my newest babies. My daughter is 22 years old now. I miss her a lot AND I am enjoying the upsides to empty nesting. I am very grateful to my husband who supports my endless ideas. This summer we made a little butterfly sanctuary in the back yard. Our 3 dogs bring us a lot of joy.
