I’m Julian Cabezas, LCSW, a licensed Psychotherapist based in New York City. I became a therapist because I wanted to be the kind of person someone could talk to when they needed a kind heart and open mind.
Therapy doesn't need to reflect just one perspective. I work from a holistic approach, helping treat the whole individual and considering the world, they live within. My therapy orientation is influenced by communal knowledge, gender studies, critical race theory, sex therapy, public health, education, sexology, spirituality, music, public policy, and the wisdom acquired with clients.
I am committed to supporting BIPOC, LGBTQQIP2SAA, kinky, poly/cnm communities, and allies. I truly care about my patients’ well-being and lives. I am a member of WPATH, NASW, GALAP, the National Queer and Trans Therapist of Color Network, and Therapy for Latinx. During the academic year, I am a Field Instructor at Columbia University School of Social Work and Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
