Children & adolescent therapy should be fun, playful, and expressive and I strive to make the therapeutic environment a combination of these things . I have enjoyed working in the public school setting for several years and I have learned the stressors that academics have on children and how this can contribute to a wide variety of mental health concerns.
I engage the family as a whole and work together to help them succeed with their therapy goals. I want each family to feel as though they can be successful outside of therapy and that they have support in times of need. I believe that connection and attachment are crucial components of building positive relationships and healing within families.
I believe in the importance of taking time for yourself to unwind and recharge. I enjoy using my admiration of nature as part of my therapeutic approach to counseling children, teens, and families. I believe that it is important for everyone to take time away from technology and to experience being more present with their loved ones.
