About me
Life has a way of pulling us off balance.
Between expectations, pressure, loss, and constant noise from the world around us, it’s easy to feel disconnected from who we are or what we’re even striving toward. I believe therapy is where you pause long enough to breathe, take stock, and begin again, with someone walking beside you this time.
I’m John Adams Perez, a Clinical Social Worker-Intern based in Las Vegas. I work with children, teens, adults, and older adults who are searching for steadiness, clarity, or simply a place where they can feel understood without judgment. Some of my clients have been in therapy before and felt unseen or unheard. Others are brand new to the process and aren’t even sure what they’re looking for, just that something needs to change.
My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Existential Therapy. That means we work on both the practical and the profound, the small daily shifts and the bigger “why” behind them.
➤ CBT helps you see and challenge the patterns that keep you stuck.
➤ MI builds the motivation to change when you’re caught between wanting things to be different and fearing they never will.
➤ Existential Therapy gives space for meaning: who you are, what matters most, and what kind of life you want to build.
╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ For Kids and Teens
Young clients need therapy that feels alive. I use games, creative projects, and structured video game play to help them explore emotions, communication, and problem-solving. I don't use these just for the sake of playing, they’re tools that make learning natural and memorable. Whether a child is navigating anxiety, ADHD, or life on the autism spectrum, we focus on connection first, then build skills for expression, regulation, and confidence.
╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ For Adults
For adults, therapy is often about peeling back layers: responsibility, exhaustion, expectations and rediscovering a sense of direction. Together, we'll clarify what’s weighing you down, strengthen your coping tools, and begin to move toward the life you actually want to live. Our work might mean finding healthier ways to manage anxiety, process trauma, or finally address the burnout that’s been quietly building. It’s equal parts healing and rebuilding.
╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ What to Expect
Our first sessions are about safety and understanding, not performance. I’ll ask about what brought you here, what’s been hardest, and what “better” might look like for you. Together we’ll set clear, achievable goals and take things one step at a time.
╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Final Thoughts
My role isn’t to tell you who to be or hand you a checklist of how to “get better.” It’s to help you reconnect with the strength and direction already within you. Whether you’re climbing out of anxiety, processing trauma, or learning to quiet the noise of daily life, I’ll meet you where you are, with empathy, patience, and tools that make change feel achievable.
If you’re ready to start, we’ll take the first step together. We'll keep going, one moment, one breath, and one small victory at a time.
