About me

My specialty is supporting children who struggle with anxiety and adults who grew up with narcissistic, emotionally unavailable or controlling parents.

My name is Jewels and I am the owner of Healing River Therapy, LLC. My specialty is supporting children who struggle with anxiety and adults who grew up with narcissistic, emotionally unavailable or controlling parents. I support people of all ages who struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, trust issues, people pleasing tendencies, self-isolation, and feelings of guilt or shame. I help those who find it challenging to stand up for themselves or establish healthy boundaries with others. I am a warm and nurturing therapist and provide a safe space to help adults heal their own wounded inner child.
Through play therapy, I help children feel safe to access and explore their feelings. When working with adults, I provide education on how trauma can affect us throughout our lives and teach nervous system calming techniques. I utilize interpersonal psychotherapy and emotionally focused individual therapy to help adults heal their childhood wounds.
I have completed trainings in narcissistic abuse and trauma, boundary setting strategies, emotionally focused individual therapy for attachment trauma and interpersonal psychotherapy for trauma, anxiety and depression. In the fall, I will begin a 3-month certificate training program with renowned expert, Dr. Lindsay Gibson, author of Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents.
To ALL people seeking therapy no matter your age or what you are going through, please know this: Everyone deserves to have a voice and your voice is important. Your feelings matter and you are not alone :)
