About me
I am an experienced social worker passionate about supporting you in your journey toward healing.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW)* in Philadelphia, PA. I am passionate about engaging in therapy that prioritizes the relationship between client and therapist and the client's expertise about their own journey. My goal is to work together with my clients to determine where they would like to grow and change, as well as to come ever closer to discovering the truest version of themselves.
My theoretical approach is centered in Relational Therapy and is intentionally eclectic in order to find the models of work that will be the best fit for clients' needs. I have extensive training in and experience with substance use, trauma, gender-related work and challenges, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ* related issues, anti-racism and effective allyship. I am actively engaged in being affirming of health at every size, embracing and loving one's body and self and considering intersectionality in understanding how clients have come to be who they are. I am interested in religious trauma and helping those who have been harmed by cults and religions to heal their relationship with the world.
My current projects in addition to clinical work include offering professional development courses on clinical supervision and related topics, as well as writing professional home study continuing education courses for professionals in mental health work.
I have extensive clinical and teaching experience in private practice as well as at Temple University; Therapy Center of Philadelphia; Mazzoni Center; Hornstein, Platt and Associates; Albert Einstein Medical Center; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; PATH Community Mental Health Center and more.
Other professional activities include roles on the board of the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work (PSCSW), including serving as President of the organization from 2017-2019. Former editorial board member for the Journal of Prevention & Treatment of HIV/AIDS. Provider of expert witness testimony to the State Board of Social Workers. Multiple articles published related to mental health and wellness in the Philadelphia Gay News.
