Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
With 13 years experience as a clinical social worker, I have honed my skills to empower high-achieving individuals to overcome self-doubt, stop people-pleasing, and manage burnout.
Hi there! I'm Jessica and am looking forward to working with you!
We'll likely be a good fit to work together if you have ever felt overwhelmed and exhausted by everything you have to do, and are still worried that you are not "doing enough"?! A never-ending to-do list that has suddenly become the source of stress instead of focus and direction, ugh! Getting stuck with people-pleasing, fear of failure, and procrastinating can take a toll on our professional and personal lives. I and my colleagues have been there from time to time and in helping others I have honed skills to support myself and my clients. I practice what I teach! Whether you're dealing with cycles of anxiety, depression, or a major life transition such as starting or ending school, switching career paths, or moving into new relationship stages, I'm here to help. Therapy is an important step in understanding the world around you and finding your place in it. It is important to me that you have a calm, compassionate space to unpack your current stressors, describe your thoughts and feelings, and express who you are.
In our first few sessions, we will go over what your experience in therapy has been like and outline the goals you would like to achieve in your therapy journey with me. I'll use evidence-based approaches to create your roadmap of how to get closer to the life you’ve always wanted and reach those goals we set out to accomplish. We will start with what is happening now and I will provide practical techniques you can start using to get relief from your current stressors so we can later dive into what happened and why you do the things you do. As we continue to meet, we will unpack the past and present to help get clarity on the future. In each session, you will have an understanding of what is helpful to you and be exposed to other things that may be helpful to try. We will always touch basis on what is helping, progress towards goals, and the cadence of sessions that is most beneficial to you. It is my belief and experience that you will get more out of your life if you are willing to change. I believe that we get stuck in patterns and habits that may have once helped us survive or is what we thought we were supposed to do. It's not always about completely changing everything we have always done, but modifying things to fit our current needs, hopes and dreams.
The approach I use is very collaborative with you, my client, guiding the exploration and determining goals for the therapy work. I will offer feedback and ask empowering questions if you feel stuck on where to start or where to go next in our work together. My focus in providing therapy is a mix of the past and present with an emphasis on what is happening now and how to help you move forward authentically and effectively. I find the perspective of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to be encouraging as it uses a wide variety of interventions to help people understand their relationship with their thoughts, how to shift that relationship, and be able to move towards living a valued life. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to guide and teach those I work with in making the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and emotions and how those impact and influence their behavior. Solutions Focused Therapy is also something I use to empower people to tap into their abilities to resolve life’s challenges.
My practice is 100% online with a potential for a mix of in-person/online in the Fall of 2022. I have appointments available Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 am-2 pm. I am only able to take on clients who are 18 and older. I provide individual therapy and can refer out for family or couple's therapy. I encourage anyone who gives me a call to leave a voicemail if I do not answer. I am often in session and cannot pick up the phone but if I have a contact name and number, I will reply or call back within 1 business day. Feel free to text or email me as well!
Fun Fact: I enjoy kayaking on the local lakes during the hot summer days!
