About me

Dr. Vasquez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S), Neuro Affective Relational Model (NARM) Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), International Association of Yoga Therapy Certified Yoga Therapist (IAYT-C) and Yoga Instructor (RYT-500) trained in EMDR and Integral Somatic Psychotherapy .

With over fifteen years of experience specializing in trauma and addiction, I have observed the impact of trauma on both the mental and physical health of my clients. As a result, I have dedicated my career to establishing an expertise in supporting clients who have experienced trauma.

I completed a specialized training program, studying the work of Dr. Peter Levine through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, to become certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. With over 250 contact hours spent over the course of three years studying the effects and resolution of trauma, while working directly with survivors of abuse, and clinically supervising Therapists employing Somatic Experiencing techniques, I experienced how trauma symptoms can be reduced utilizing trauma informed interventions.

I expanded upon my understanding of trauma by studying the work of Dr. Lawrence Heller and the Neuro Effective Relational Model (NARM). NARM addresses the profound impact and resolution of developmental trauma. I embarked on this in-depth exploration of trauma through an additional year-long, 150-hour training to become a NARM Therapist, and assisted in bringing this program to Austin, as Training Coordinator and Co-Training Assistant.

Additionally, I have dedicated the last 20 years to the study of Yoga to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) through Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level and an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist (IAYT-C) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists at the 1,000-hour level. I published an article, ‘Yoga as a Therapeutic Intervention’ in the National Association of Social Workers journal in 2006.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor (LCSW-S), NARM Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Yoga Therapist, I am uniquely qualified to integrate my extensive trauma training and experience as a Somatic Psychotherapist to support my clients in their healing journey.

My service to the profession includes serving as Co-Chair of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-TX) Women’s Issues Committee, and as a proud member of NASW, the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR), Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (SETI), US Association of Body Psychotherapists (USABP), Texas Society for Clinical Social Work, and the National Society for Leadership and Success.
