About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been dedicated to helping adults and teenagers cope with anxiety, depression, workplace stress, grief, religious trauma, and life transitions.
Have you experienced trauma? Perhaps many different or repeated traumas throughout your life? Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad, anxious, angry, disconnected? Have you been judged by others? Are you a member of the LGBTQIA+ and/or other underrepresented communities, unfairly treated by society, parents, friends, or others? Maybe you don’t know how to identify and express your feelings or have difficulty communicating those feelings to others and this has impacted your life, your perception of yourself, your family, in negative ways.
Through using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) along with other therapeutic approaches such as Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and traditional “talk” therapy, my clients have reported increased functioning and decreased symptoms of whatever they have sought therapy for. Congratulations, you’ve already begun your journey! You’re searching for a therapist!
My core values include vulnerability and authenticity. I understand that for others to come to a place of vulnerability they need a safe, non-judgmental space. Individuals may feel many different emotions when entering therapy including excitement, doubt, fear, or shame. Creating a positive, supportive, strengths-based, open therapeutic relationship can help ease some of those uncomfortable feelings and open the doors to true healing and well- being. I believe that by creating that relationship, you will find the answers you seek to live the life you desire. Individuals are the experts of their life, and everyone has the answers they seek, however due to systems of oppression, stress, and trauma, they’re sometimes unable to identify the root cause of what brings them to seek therapy.
The individuals I work with describe me as culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, authentic, empathetic, friendly, honest, straight-forward, inquisitive, funny, and passionate about what I do. I understand that not all therapists are a good fit for every individual. I look forward to speaking with you to find out if I am a good fit to walk with you through your journey.
