I specialize in treating trauma and perinatal/maternal mental health.

I specialize in treating trauma/PTSD, perinatal/maternal mental health, depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. I particularly love helping folx repair and thrive after developmental and relational trauma. This type of trauma occurs before the age of 18 and create many "micro wounds" that lead to big impacts on adult life. This is an area of specialty, and I find in my work with moms, that transitioning to parenthood activates a lot of these developmental trauma wounds.

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my graduate experience, I interned at a community mental health agency where I gained experience working with a wide variety of clients. My approach with clients is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. As my client, you will feel unconditionally supported regardless of what you bring to each session. Counseling is a process in which we work together toward your identified goals in ways that works for you. I believe it is a privilege to hear your story and to help you work toward your mental health goals. I use a strength-based, eclectic approach when working with my clients, focusing on mindfulness practices and cultural and/or societal impacts on mental health.

My personal philosophy about life and mental health struggles is aligned with the ideas of Buddhism: that we all suffer, suffering is a shared human experience, and being present through the moments of suffering reduces the suffering. Essentially, life sucks sometimes, but there is also a sweetness to life, even in moments of deep suffering, if we can learn to accept that this moment, right here, is only temporary. We all have the ability to end our own suffering, heal ourselves, and thrive in life. But sometimes we need some help in the midst of suffering to get through, and my hope is to be someone you can trust to help you through it. As someone who has sat on both sides of the therapy chair, I understand the importance of feeling safe in a space to share your inner world and I strive to create a trusting, safe space for you to explore and grow.
