About me
I work with kids and adults ages 6-100 plus. I am a DBT trained therapist who uses eclectic interventions such as sandtray, ACT, CBT and I am also trained in EMDR.
I am an Arizona native. I married my high school sweetheart, am the proud parent of two adult children, one of whom is on the Autism Spectrum. I am passionate about raising awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities due to raising my son and being a paraprofessional in the Deer Valley School District for eight years. I have a heartfelt compassion and empathy for the parents of these “differently-abled” children and the unique challenges they face. I am also the mother of three sassy cats and lover of all fur babies.
I hold a Master of Professional Counseling degree from Grand Canyon University.
Certification(s): Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
Certificate(s): Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/Thought Field Therapy (TFT) Tapping; Positive Psychology Art Coaching (applying Mindfulness training with experiential art activities).
Additional Training: EMDR Basic Training, Grief, Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) Model, Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy.
I am a LGBTQ+ ally who has completed additional training through the American Counseling Association (ACA) in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counseling.
Khalil Gibran is quoted as saying, “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” I look forward to walking alongside you in the path of your healing.
