Therapy is an opportunity for us to heal from trauma, process grief, ease conflicts in our personal relationships, develop a clearer sense of self, and learn skills helpful for navigating our particular difficulties. Through individual counseling, you are supported in your development of skills to reduce anxiety, processing uncomfortable emotions, and strengthening relationships. We are all in a process of development, evolution and growth. Therapy offers the possibility of cultivating some agency and intentionality within this innate process.

I received my Masters Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006. I began my career working with children in state's custody (ages 12-17) where I engaged in individual, family and group therapy. I worked with the children, and their families, for 7 years. After this experience, I moved to an outpatient setting where I continued working with children and adults (ages 12 to 75) where I practiced individual, couple's and family therapy. I am eclectic in my approach and utilize emotional focused therapy, mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, grief and existential related issues, addiction—among other things. I am a 12-step informed therapist and have a strong desire to help those recovering—one day at a time—from the prison of addiction. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful tool for healing and practice in a collaborative, person-centered way. I hope to help individuals, couples and families identify, face and heal areas in their lives preventing them from living in an authentic and fulfilling way.
