About me
I am a Certified Trauma Professional and am passionate about helping people who are healing from trauma, sexual abuse, and PTSD. I offer in-person and teletherapy sessions for teens, adults, and couples.
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #134844. I work at The Place Within Counseling and am under the direct supervision of Gary Henderson, LMFT #7053, and Alexis Marson, LMFT #80115.
I believe everyone is doing their best with where they’re at in life. Sometimes life can get scary, stressful, and overwhelming. It helps to know you don’t have to go through hardships alone and that these feelings don’t have to last forever. I desire to create a safe, warm, and inclusive space where you are seen, understood, and known. You matter, and your mental health is worth supporting. I would be honored to hear your story and meet you with authenticity, acceptance, and support. My hope is that through therapy, you can come home to yourself, live more fully alive, and experience deep and transformational healing in your life.
As a Certified Trauma Professional, I and am passionate about helping people regulate their nervous systems and heal from trauma, sexual abuse, and PTSD. I also help people experience healing from anxiety, depression, stress, people-pleasing, perfectionism, codependency, unhealthy relationship dynamics, narcissistic abuse, self-esteem, intimacy concerns, eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, and dissociative symptoms.
I utilize Narrative Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Imago Relationship Therapy as the primary therapeutic modalities in treatment. I'm also a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner and utilize this powerful body-based modality to help my clients heal from trauma. I deeply value the relationships I form with my clients and getting to empower and support them as they rediscover/reclaim their incredible worth and value. When it comes to therapy, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your unique life experiences, identity, and history are worth exploring. No matter the therapeutic method I may primarily utilize with you, I approach therapy with an inclusive view and will build upon your innate strengths.
Therapy can help increase your problem-solving abilities, strengthen your coping skills, lower levels of general distress, enhance your self-awareness, and learn how to self-regulate when challenging thoughts and emotions arise. Therapy can also help clarify your understanding of yourself, your values, and your goals. Whether you are hoping to improve your relationships with others or your relationship with yourself, you are worthy of having your experiences validated and understood.
I am a big fan of therapy and have benefited in so many ways from the incredible therapists who have been a part of my journey. The healing journey from trauma is full of much unlearning and relearning. This process can be hard, but it is often full of endless possibilities for growth and newfound depths of knowing self. With that being said, I understand how scary it can be to take that first step and begin to prioritize your mental health. Please know that I take a client-centered and collaborative approach to therapy and will move at a pace and in a direction that feels right to you.
I will show up as my authentic self to our therapy sessions and desire to cultivate a safe and accepting space where you are seen and heard. I will sit with you in the most painful and lowest moments of life and celebrate with you in the most exciting and highest moments of life. Sometimes you might come into our sessions looking for a solution, and other times you might show up needing a safe place to land. No matter what you are going through, I will be here for you.
