About me

Jackie works with children, adolescents, young adults and parents through individual, group, and family services at Core Connection Counseling. She is a licensed clinical social worker, with her professional educator’s license (PEL), school social worker endorsement. Jackie has over 13 years of experience working in schools, private practice, and home-based behavioral therapy services.

Jackie specializes in anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and emotional behavioral regulation skill development. Jackie is passionate about empowering neurodivergent individuals to navigate life transitions and challenges, across age and developmental stages.

Jackie has a bachelor’s degree in communication from DePaul University and a master’s in clinical social work, with a specialization in school social work from The University of Chicago. During her tenure in schools, Jackie was a certified instructor in non-violent crisis intervention, through the Crisis Prevention Institute. She provided required trainings to teachers, administrators, and related services staff, on de-escalation strategies and problem-solving tools.

Jackie’s experience and training has guided her therapeutic approaches to include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and the Social Thinking™ methodology. Most recently, Jackie completed a facilitator training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T). Jackie uses a strengths-based, collaborative, proactive problem-solving approach with her clients and their families, with an emphasis on building co-regulation strategies and practices, informed by current research on brain states and the nervous system.

Jackie is a mother to three girls and enjoys time spent with her family, having dance parties, exploring national parks, and watching movies. When not in the therapy office, she can be found running and rehabbing her 80-year-old house.
