About me

Fondly referred to as Dr. V., I am a Harvard trained, licensed clinical psychologist with 30 years of clinical experience. Licensed in MA and AR. I specialize in anxiety, disorders, depression, ADHD, parenting, leadership, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

By cultivating meaningful relationships, my clients can be vulnerable and daring to break out of old patterns that are no longer working for them. Together, we will focus on your strengths to address a wide range of complex issues. I am passionate about helping people live their most meaningful life. I am committed to delivering state-of-the-art psychotherapy and assessment services in a warm, collaborative, nonjudgmental environment. At this time, I am only meeting with my patients virtually, due to this, I am working with middle school ages and above.

You may need support navigating a transition at work or looking to step up your leadership skills. You may be in a romantic, personal or family relationship that needs clarification or strengthening. You may need parenting support or your child may be struggling with anxiety at school. I use evidence based practices that are the gold standard in therapy that can help you with these things and more. I infuse mindfulness and compassion based practices into Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Gottman Method.

In addition to individual therapy and coaching, I am passionate about bringing people together that are experiencing similar issues and desire to grow to their fullest potential. I offer classes and groups that include the following topics but are not limited to: Parenting, Couples, Self-Compassion, Leadership, DBT and Yoga CBT for all ages. Joining with peers, brings internal growth and connectedness that is powerful and lasting.

One way I have met clients where they are is by creating, Chilloutz, a Mindfulness Coping App for kids 3 - 8 years to help kids manage, understand and befriend their emotions in a playful way. www.chilloutz.com Parents told me they were struggling to use helpful coping strategies at home and the app assisted parents to practice what was learned in the therapy room. Chilloutz brings parents and kids together in a fun way to practice calming self (yes, we need this as parents too!) even in the midst of big emotions. I also co-developed the Yoga- CBT Program for teens; by incorporating movement/yoga; we can change our emotions and thoughts by moving our body. Many times, we are not able to out think our thoughts in that very moment; we can change our posture and move to shift our thoughts and emotions. Y-CBT for teens is powerfully effective in 6-8 session; significant reduction of anxiety and depression has been shown.

By working collaboratively, we will identify your internal values and strengths and those will be your guide for creating the life and relationships you want to have. I look forward to working with you or your family!

Psychotherapy usually occurs on a weekly basis, and each session is typically 45 minutes. Extended and more frequent sessions are also available. The total anticipated length of treatment varies depending on the client’s individual needs and can be discussed following the initial evaluation.

I am an out-of-network provider. The fee for each standard-length session of psychotherapy or psychological assessment is $300. By paying privately, clients are afforded maximal privacy; mental health diagnoses and treatment details need not be shared with insurers. Moreover, private payment allows the terms of treatment to be determined solely according to clients’ needs, rather than being dictated or restricted by insurance companies.

If clients whose insurance plans include out-of-network benefits wish to file with their insurance for reimbursement of fees, I am happy to provide the necessary receipts for services.
