About me
I am the CEO founder of Bridging Lyfe PLLC. We are an experienced group psychotherapist practice that are dedicated to helping heal the individual self . Through this process the individual learn to cope with anxiety, depression, daily stressors and past trauma. The individual learn to heal mentally, physically and spiritually.
You are the driver of your own life, your behaviors, your thoughts, and your growth. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Arkansas, Illinois and New Jersey. I believe that growth and change comes from within. So, let us explore any negative thoughts and behaviors that contribute to delaying your growth.
What is your story? I became a therapist due to my own personal experiences of dealing with loss, trauma, and multigenerational issues that I had to overcome. It took for me to look within myself to acknowledge and accept all of me, flaws and all . This in turn helped with my personal growth.
Because of my story I believe as a therapist my role is to guide clients towards healing and personal growth. I utilize interventions that are evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which address change and thinking patterns which helps change in behaviors. I also utilize interventions in which the client directs change, such as Narrative Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. Following my all-time favorite technique of Mindfulness Therapy, which focuses on awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and actions that hinder your progress. I create and develop wellness events to help educate and bring awareness to individuals in the community. I believe when we work on the growth of the individual this affects friends, family and even the community.
As your therapist it is my goal to help heal the mind and body by guiding clients to become aware of their thinking and behavioral patterns that may interfere with personal growth. I have my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Chicago State University. Currently, I am studying to obtain my certification as a sex therapist. I specialize in self esteem, perinatal mood disorder(pre & post natal), parent/child issues, single parent issues, anxiety, trauma and depression. I conduct individual and group therapy sessions with people from the ages of 14 and up. I have over 10 years of social service experience, 2 years of crisis management experience and 7 years of counseling experience.
Outside of my role as a therapist, I love to find new forms of expressive arts to help me cope. Creating new memories in nature and spending quality time with my family are other ways that help me to stay balanced. As a therapist I deal with daily stressors, which is why creating time for me outside of my definitive roles helps me to become intimate/personable with Iona(myself). How can I help you to find that balance to become intimate with yourself?
