About me
I am a black Christian Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I provide mental health services and a Christian faith based perspective. My goal is to partner with your whole self as you experience and work through your life's journey. I treat you as an individual, inviting you to bring all that makes you the person you are into session. I believe in working with you to heal the whole person; mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, because the whole person experiences. I offer virtual therapy, aspiring to provide a safe space for you to process your struggles in the comfort of your familiar spaces.
As a Christian I believe each of us are special and have purpose. We sometimes struggle with focusing on that purpose when life issues impede on our journey. When life issues conflict with our true selves, we can often feel despondent or off center. I choose to work in ways that heal the whole person; spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Striving for our wholeness is the strength that allows us to overcome struggles and become our best selves. Life is a journey our whole being experiences. I believe the whole being should be honored; spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically. I try to make the space we work in comfortable enough for you to feel able to bring all of you, just as you are into that space. It is unkind to betray parts of yourself by leaving them outside therapeutic spaces. So I invite them, where ever they are, whatever they are feeling, needing, wanting or simply unsure of. These parts are a part of you, they have fought to keep you safe, healthy...to keep you going. I would love to help you learn to honor those parts, connect with them, heal them as you heal your current self. I specialize in trauma and interpersonal violence. I partner with individuals who may be working through traumatic experiences (short or long term), depression, anxiety, child abuse, divorce and blended families, work/school balance, family of origin issues, relationship problems, life transitions, personality struggles, self-injurious, suicidal ideations, compulsive behaviors, and persistent mental health concerns. I graduated from Simmons University and I will partner with you using skills such as EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT and IFS informed practices. I personalize treatment plans and skill building tools for each individual because I understand no two persons will experience life the same. I am licensed to work with individuals in the states of Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee.
