Does your anxiety get in the way when you are trying to talk to your partner, co-workers, boss, or clients and feel stuck? When we try to “fix” what is outside of us, inevitably, we will continue to feel stuck. When we try to look within ourselves; our emotions, thoughts, or prejudgments based on our beliefs or assumptions, we may challenge ourselves and ask what we believe is true. I hope you are willing to challenge yourself by examining your unquestioned mind. My approach to counseling therapy is integrated with an Emotion-focused and holistic approach to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-focused Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and client-focused Gestalt therapy. We will develop a treatment plan to fit your needs to connect with yourself and others appropriately. You will delve into your thoughts and be able to respond with integrity and freedom.I believe every experience can lead to growth, even the painful ones when we challenge our thinking. I think our emotions and learned behaviors from childhood significantly affect how we react both consciously and unconsciously in harmful ways. Love and approval, for example, are a big deal for most of us, and we will do anything to obtain that based on our thinking. When we can see the truth about ourselves apart from our false thoughts, we can finally let go of what does not belong to us; shame, guilt, overthinking, manipulation, blame, or anger based on our false thinking.
