I graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Science in Social Work via the advanced clinical practice track in health, mental health and disabilities. Through this program, I was guided through a PROP (power, racism, oppression and privilege) lens, which continues to inform my work. I am trained in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed approaches.

I have been described as grounded, warm, open, and conversational. I can be direct and use humor when appropriate. I value human connection, compassion, curiosity, and discovering the individual resources each of us can pull from to align with what feels fulfilling. My practice is non-pathologizing and focuses on self-awareness, identity, life transitions, mental health, alcohol and substance abuse and dependence, women’s issues, communication, interpersonal relationships, anxiety, depression, prolonged grief, and mindfulness. My previous careers as both an actress and massage therapist anchor my attentions towards storytelling and the mind-body connection.

Understanding that you are the expert of your own experience, I believe if you are looking for clarity and/or support, then this is the time. I work with you to find what fits best in your life given your unique background. I actively collaborate with you to either bring up solutions or simply ask helpful questions that work towards sustained, meaningful self-awareness and growth. My goal is to foster a spirit of honest sharing in the room, a space where a person can express what is important and genuine, be it pain or joy.

Generally, it seems that therapy is difficult to start because it takes vulnerability. It can feel overwhelming to begin to share your life story with someone you don't know. I always suggest speaking to at least a few different mental health professionals to find a good fit for you.
