About me
I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping teens and adults learn how to gain control over anxiety and depression so they can live their best life. I offer virtual appointments, weekdays after 4:30pm.
My clients describe me as genuine, invested, friendly, easy going, works hard to help clients feel comfortable in virtual sessions, enjoys laughter, empathetic, and offers a safe space for clients to speak freely. I firmly believe that at some point in life everyone will face a challenge that requires an understanding of how to work through anxiety, depression, stress, worry or fear. I am passionate about helping clients learn ways to manage when such situations arise in their life. So what do I have to offer clients.....
SOMETHING TO KNOW ABOUT MY APPROACH:
I was trained and certified in Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I will teach you skills in each session that are based on this evidenced based approach. You will strengthen those skills by completing assignments outside of therapy, which will help you reach your goals. I will help you learn the ins and outs of anxiety so that you know when it is bullying you and how to control it.
TOGETHER, WE WILL:
We will process your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and you will learn ways to identify negative self talk in order to move forward with less anxiety and depression. Clients and I discuss fears, adjustments to change, anxiety, depression, obsessive worry and a variety of other issues.
I SPECIALIZE IN WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO:
I work with clients that are tired of being bullied by anxiety and depression and are motivated to learn how to beat that bully. Some specific populations I have experience working with are parents raising anxious children, survivors of Covid, high school and college students, veterans, medical providers as well as student athletes.
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE:
Living with an anxiety disorder and raising two children that struggle with anxiety and depression has led to my passion of helping others who experience similar struggles.
SOMETHING THAT STANDS OUT ABOUT WHERE I OFFER THERAPY IS:
You don't have to worry about driving to an appointment because you will have the flexibility to attend your sessions where ever it is most convenient for you. All appointments are offered week days after 4:30pm.
MORE ABOUT ME AND MY PRACTICE:
I was raised in NJ but have lived on the GA/FL border for twenty years. I was a college athlete, I am the ex-spouse of a military member, and I raised two children diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I received my Masters in Social Work from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. I love watching fast pitch softball and attending the FL Gator softball games. I love spending time with my family and most of all I love taking naps 🙂
