My mission as a therapist is to provide heartfelt therapy that focuses on emotional wellbeing and hope for a better future. I am a kind, compassionate, and skilled therapist who happens to be a former school counselor with abundant experience working with young people and their families. I work with children and teens, and adults to help them overcome anxiety and develop stronger resiliency, confidence and self-esteem, academic success, and mental wellness. I also offer career counseling for those seeking career direction and career decision-making.
I use an integrative tools-based approach; We’ll work toward cultivating self-awareness, shifting your mindset, and making room to encourage the best possible version of yourself. You’ll tap into your strengths, capabilities, and natural problem-solving abilities, developing the skills to restructure your thoughts and move away from patterns of worry, negativity, low self-confidence, or depression.
I am a former school counselor with many years of experience teaching and counseling in grades K-12. Before deciding on a career in therapy and counseling, I studied Anthropology as an undergraduate, fueling my love of primates, especially greater and lesser apes. I am a creative person, and I love using art and creativity to help boost mental wellness; I often integrate art and expressive art techniques into my practice.
I experienced severe anxiety (coupled with undiagnosed ADHD) throughout my childhood. One of the main reasons I feel called to the counseling profession is to help young people experiencing mental health issues navigate childhood/teenhood and develop stronger mental wellness and emotional wellbeing.
When I am not practicing therapy, you can find me hiking the trails of the beautiful West Coast with my husband and son, daydreaming about my next travel adventure, or spending time in my art studio creating.
