About me
I am a licensed mental health counselor in Breaux Bridge, LA with 12 years experience in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings that include Residential, Mental Health Rehab, Groups, and Individual and Private Practice settings.
I approach counseling from an eclectic perspective rooted in solution- and client-focused therapies in that various evidence-based modalities are referenced to create the best therapeutic modality for the client in order to better understand the clients’ problems and to develop solutions. I work with clients in a variety of formats, including individually, in groups, as couples, and as families. I also conduct group therapy and life coaching sessions.
I enjoy helping someone through and being part of someone's personal experiences. Although our problems and feelings are unique, we all have them and can learn from each other in a therapeutic setting in ways common daily interactions do not give us. This is how I like approaching my sessions - as a team, addressing these challenges together, free from criticism, judgment, or pain. We will together change negative perceptions that are not thoughtful, helpful, inspiring, necessary, or kind and that do not serve any other purpose but to bring us down. I believe in creating a safe space where we can have difficult conversations, work on resolving issues, and collaborate on ways to meet your personal and professional goals.
I am currently developing an equine-assisted therapy and learning facility for victims of significant trauma and those that need healing in other ways in the Lafayette, LA and Linden, TN areas using retired racehorses, abused/neglected horses, and foster horses from the local area.
It takes a lot of courage and motivation to reach out for additional support. Thank you for trusting me with your life struggles. Let's conquer this battle together.
I look forward to talking with you.
