I am an experienced mental health counselor who works exclusively with adults suffering from mental health problems such as depression or anxiety caused by unresolved trauma from childhood or adolescence.

I have a private psychotherapy practice dedicated to helping individual adults resolve lifelong emotional pain that stems from depression, anxiety, problems with self-esteem, problems with emotional expressivity, communication, and loneliness as well as lack of meaning, purpose, vitality, and energy. I also help adults confused about their identity discover their true self and lead authentic lives. My approach is to find the cause of these problems in my client's unique pattern of childhood trauma. Whether the precise cause was physical, verbal or emotional abuse or some form of emotional neglect that prevented secure attachment, childhood trauma frequently leaves the adult survivor feeling unsafe, anxious, different, defective, unworthy, unwanted or unlovable. Adult survivors typically feel as if they don't belong and that if others knew who they really were they would be rejected. They live in fear of discovery and hide their shame with compensations like body building, plastic surgery, acquiring significant wealth and possessions or becoming notable and powerful in business, politics, entertainment or the professions. Adult survivors of childhood trauma don't thrive but survive by using maladaptive coping methods. These include self-hatred, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, addictions, and OCD behaviors. Sadly, they often live with or marry partners who bear an extreme resemblance to the parent who harmed them the most. Ultimately, they feel stuck living a life that does not make them feel satisfied, happy or truly alive. The good news is that there is hope for fundamental transformation through the trauma therapy methods I use. I am relentless when it comes to continuous learning and improvement of my trauma therapy techniques so that I can be of maximum help and benefit to my clients.
