About me
Do you or your child struggle with low self-esteem, self-doubt, depression, and anxiety? Perhaps also struggle with impatience, short temper, or anger management issues. Do you or your child feel like your feelings are discounted and rejected by others? Are there too many upsets in your own day or do others make your days more complicated?
I can help you reduce depression, teach you coping skills to adjust to anxiety, depression, stress and low self esteem. I work with individuals from pre-teen to adults as well as families to help develop better coping skills and explore ways to get along more productively.
I am an Idaho, Michigan, and New York State Licensed Counselor. I earned my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Albany, State University of New York. I also received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Idaho State University. I have worked with pre-adolescence, adolescents, and adults in diverse populations and in a range of settings including schools, foster care, and private agencies.
I have training and expertise working in-person and through telehealth for a range of needs, including emotional and behavioral regulation difficulties, trauma, crisis-management, depression, anxiety, addiction, interpersonal, and school-related issues. In addition to previously working through a local agency in the public-school setting, I have experience working in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing counseling and referrals to additional community resources. I use a person-centered approach and utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, play therapy, solution-focused skill building, and creative activities to challenge and build upon his clients' strengths. Outside of providing counseling, I love to spend time with my family, play games, and spend time in the great outdoors.
