About me

Whether you may be having difficulties dealing with your own feelings, emotions or substance use issues - or are having issues in relationships with family of origin, current intimate relationships, work/friendship relations or other issues with religion, sexuality, culture, or shame…. you can reach out for a free consultation and see if I may be a good fit for discussing things in your life.

I am an experienced therapist who specializes in dealing with trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, narcissistic abuse, relationship issues, religious trauma/transition, LGBTQ+ and other issues.

I’ve been counseling professionally for 11 years, and for the past 6 as a Mental Health therapist. In this time, I have helped many individuals clarify aspects of their lives and situations.

In therapy I try to create an environment where you can feel safe discussing and exploring all aspects of your life experience. I feel that cognitive and behavioral techniques can be used in tandem with psychodynamic exploration in order to first deal with present issues, and then to better understand oneself and the life events that created our experience up to this point in time. I have experience using DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS and psychodynamic exploration.

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Utah State University which gave me the education and vocabulary for dealing with the psychological aspects of life’s challenges. I also hold a BS in social Anthropology from the University of Utah which versed me in both the myriad similarities and differences human beings share. I also earned a certificate from the University of Utah in substance use counseling. I I am a member of the LGBTQ-Affirmative Psychotherapist Guild of Utah, Inc. I also bring a wealth of life experiences with me which help me understand others' and experiences we, as human beings, deal with in our lives.
