A licensed clinical therapist, over 30 years of experience as an addiction counselor and clinical social worker. Retired from the Navy; and received my BS and started counseling. On obtained my Master Social Work degree at University of Connecticut, became a therapist then, worked with troubled adolescents; then worked at the VA treating Veterans with PTSD afterwards, a Minimum-Security, Military Prison; Provided therapy for military prisoners and civilians, most had like anyone outside of the military. I have a small private practice and my specialties are trauma, depression and substance use. My approach is friendly, and warm Diverse in many counseling modalities like, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Rational-Emotive Therapy (RET), Dialytically-Behavioral Therapy (D-BT) and stoicism and lots of listening. Bottom line, I'll meet you where you are at, and we will overcome your obstacles together. Until we meet, take care of yourself you deserve it!
Battling emotional difficulties can be frightening and hard. Why? It's fear of the unexpected. My 30 years of experience as an addiction counselor and clinical social worker and treating others with emotional difficulties has taught me how to make this process less scary and easier. We can walk the path to overcoming your difficulty together. My expertise are Trauma and Addictions; most serving the military, veterans, first responders, and their significant others. However, I have treated other problems, anger, stress, anxiety, depression, esteem, confidence, loss and finding direction. My therapy style has been described as warm, interactive and "just able to listen without judgement". I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I also believe your treatment should meet your unique and specific needs. So that we can work together to help you feel better about yourself. I commend you for taking the first step to feeling better, because it takes courage. But we'll do it together. Remember, "Without fear there would not be any courage". Looking forward to hooking up. Ending, I would like to say, enjoy your life, because you deserve it. Standing by ready to assist. Frank
