About me
Self-care is how to take your power back. I’m here to help you activate it. I am a solo mother, sister, partner, friend and daughter. I go to therapy. I have a coach. I am a survivor of burnout.
I would not ask you to do anything I wouldn’t do. Bring your shame. The secrets you keep near and dear. Feelings of overwhelm. I will be your partner through the pain and stress.
I believe the foundation of all successful therapy, counseling, coaching and mentoring is a warm and empathic relationship between therapist and client, and I do everything I can to forge and maintain a strong bond.
Living in Empathy is a Black woman owned practice that is composed of majority Black and people of color identified therapists. The white therapists who work with us are vetted by the owner, Erin Matthews, to assess for an anti-racism commitment that shows action. Words are hollow. Action is the only way to live an anti-racist life. We will hold space for your racial trauma. We will hold space for whatever pronoun or name you would like to be called. We will hold space for your abilities or disabilities. We will respect who you love. We will hold space for those who have struggled financially. Our team has faced many of these issues ourselves. You will have a home with our practice.
