I am Indigenous and speak some Purehpecha. I use EMDR, and traditional Mexican folklore healing along with an evidence based approach.

¡Hablo Español! I specialize in working with Latinx, immigrants, and BIPOC clients, but I am open to anyone! I work with adults and children with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, racial identity, and life transitions. I use a holistic approach to healing using theory based and intuition along with EMDR. I work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I understand the Latino culture and beliefs. Understanding these beliefs can be part of the healing process.

I use a trauma informed lens and a full assessment to help develop the best therapeutic approach for my clients wellbeing. My therapeutic modality includes Strength Based, Solution Focused, Narrative Therapy, Psychoeducation, Psychoanalytical, EMDR, Mindfulness along with a spirituality approach, in a collaborative way to help my clients healing process. I also provide immigration evaluations for Hardship and VAWA cases. Part of my modality is integrating EMDR along with traditional Mexican folklore healing along with evidence based approaches to help clients heal with natural remedies for mental, emotional and physical wellbeing in a somatic way. My approach is tailored to my client.

I am a first generation Mexican immigrant. Growing up as a child, counseling and mental health was never a topic we talked about in my family. We believed counseling was a privilege for the "wealthy" folks and not for "us" in my culture. I now recognize the struggles my family went through with depression, stress, and anxiety. I also witnessed alcoholism, abuse, and neglect. We never talked about the abuse until I became an adult and sought my own therapy. It is not easy finding the right therapist/counselor. One of the reasons why I decided to become a therapist/counselor was to break the cycle of stigmas and barriers around mental health. I want to create a safe environment of healing and restoration. As human beings, we deserve to be respected and treated with dignity. This can begin today through therapy. My life experiences along with my education has given me skills to help collaborate your journey of healing. Thank you for looking at my profile.
