About me
Providing non-judgmental, in-person (San Antonio) and online support for mental health counseling statewide in both Texas and Florida. Helping individuals, couples, and families identify their purpose and meaning to find a life worth living. Using humanistic and strengths-based approaches, clients learn to create their own path in life.
Come as you are. Creating compassion and empathy for yourself is different than making excuses for unwanted behaviors. Why do we make the choices we do in our lives? Sometimes the answers are slow in coming or they may change over time. Finding support and feeling supported during challenging periods is essential for our own personal growth. Together, we will develop a collaborative and supportive relationship.
Tell your story. The stories we tell ourselves about who we are dictate what we think about our self-worth. How do you feel about yourself today? Using narrative therapy, you get to re-examine the stories that shaped your identity and personal values. Reframing core issues, looking at them through a different lens, allows you to separate yourself from the problem. What is in your control? What can you change?
Find acceptance. As sensitive beings, we have a need to be seen and heard as our true selves. Communicating our thoughts and feelings effectively with others is necessary to being understood and accepted. In therapy, learning cognitive behavioral strategies helps you connect your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and understand how they can influence each other.
