About me
Some experiences cannot be put into words and yet their impact lasts a lifetime. Tendrils of that impact are apparent in most aspects of our lives. I specialize in working with such experiences, whether you call it traumatic, something else, or nothing at all. I have had years of experience in crisis management, interpersonal relationship building, and coping skills support, all from a culturally-informed perspective. My culture does influence my perspective and responses in life so I hold people’s cultural identity as central to their therapy.
I use EMDR to help integrate the physical and emotional parts of trauma; CBT to help gain awareness of self-talk when discussing relationship and identity concerns; Harm Reduction Psychotherapy for substance use to understand the meanings drugs hold in our lives.
We often make the best decisions we can for ourselves and our loved ones based on the resources and circumstances of the moment. I believe that, so I see no reason to judge. So, if you are struggling with your identity, with processing past or on-going trauma, or building relationships, I want to be your sounding board.
