Calming Anxiety and Transforming from Depressed to Thriving

When someone comes to me, my first priority is helping them to get unstuck and out of pain. Then we work on what caused the situation in the first place. Often it's about learning skills and techniques to create the love and life you really want to have.

Watching people heal, grow and realize their own potential, is why I do this. And I'm all about results. Over the last 25+ years in my psychology work, I heard over and over again that people were getting where they wanted to be, way faster and with less distress than they could have imagined. When I worked with insurance companies, the stats were impressive, as up to 90% of people who worked with me–stayed with me. And you know you'd only stay if you were getting results.

As I often say in my first session, my goal is to get you to leave me. How it works is I teach you. You learn and pass along what you got. The result is a world that's happier for all of us. The way we do this is with a combination of cognitive behavioral and spiritual (not religious) psychology techniques. In the end, it is all an inside job. When you get to where you want to be inside, the external world falls right into line.

I've worked with hundreds and hundreds of people who were depressed, anxious, dealing with loss, struggling in relationships and with finding ways to motivate themselves and build their self-esteem. And while everyone is different, I've got such a warehouse of tools at this point–I seem to be able to offer something that gets things unstuck and that really works. So please know, you don't have to know how to make the changes you want. But you do have to be willing. And if you are, let's work together and get you where you want to be.

Here's what clients say about working with me:

"Dr. Norton is a soul-reader. I've had a couple of therapists before, but never connected to anyone as much as I did to Dr. Norton. In a very short time, she helped me see things from a different perspective. She asks the right questions and responds promptly and thoughtfully. Kind, intuitive, compassionate – I could not have asked for a better therapist."

"Dr. Norton was an amazing help to me. She made me feel completely comfortable and conversation was very personal. She is caring and compassionate which made it easy to open up to her. Sometimes she was an ear who would listen and at others she was there to help suggest ways for me to overcome my obstacles. She helped me prepare for the future and regain sight of the big picture.
