About me
Earl W. Ridgell, Jr., MA, MS, LCPC provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions configured for the treatment of each client's unique needs. He is trained to provide treatment for a wide range of mental health issues including: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Mood Related Disorders, ADHD, bereavement, crisis intervention strategies & other responses to situational stressors.
Earl is a Licensed Counselor in Maryland practicing since 2016. Earl's graduate work was completed at St. Mary's Seminary & University commencing with a MA in Theology in 2003. Additionally, Earl recently graduated Loyola University Maryland in 2016, commencing with a MS in Clinical Counseling, emphasis in pastoral counseling. Earl also has certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Nutrition and Mental Health. Along with these certifications Earl has some training in bereavement and loss care. Earl has been a member of the American Counseling Association and has worked in a behavioral health clinic for three years with a variety of clients of all demographics and diagnoses. Earl has also served as pastor for over 16 years, plus a youth minister for over 8 years. This opportunity has enriched his background and helped him develop skills in connecting with his clients, no matter where they are, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. Additionally, Earl's clinic work focused on serving a diverse population with a variety of mental health needs, including people of all ages. Earl states that his work with adults is the very rewarding, along with his work with children who struggle with anxiety, depression, focus and concentration. Earl has helped numerous clients obtain insight, increase self esteem, enrich their relationships, find the right treatment plan, seek out medication when needed or recommended and help people make decisions about their value system, worldview and other psychological and philosophical outlooks. Earl helps clients examine if they are present "way of being" is working for them, right now. This includes helping client with a self-examination of their past, not necessary to blame it, but to inform themselves about how it has helped them to become the person they are now and how can they use it to make themselves even better.
