As a licensed professional counselor, I work with youth ages 5 - 18 working on concerns such trauma, family changes, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I also work with parents to support their child, and with adults on a myriad of issues including those listed above. As a clinician I work from a place of 'with' and use a team approach to care. I provide resources, skills, tools, and help to parents and caregivers, work with teachers and school personnel, to provide youth with the support they need to see lasting change and growth. I use a variety of interventions, most commonly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, or creative arts such as sand tray.

Together with the client and their support system, we create a plan to address their primary concern, and as many of the secondary issues that concern can cause in a way that is meaningful and effective. Goals can be met using CBT, EMDR, creative interventions using art or music, or any combination that is needed to help the client. My approach to counseling starts with a true Client Centered base and starts with building positive self-worth. Reaching out is a vulnerable but necessary step – don't hesitate to contact me especially if you have been looking for care or running into barriers to getting mental health services. Clients seek counseling for a variety of reasons. I find right now a lot of the primary concerns are around anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harm, a myriad of life changes, new behaviors that need different coping and calming skills, and connection. If you are having experiences that are causing you to wonder if you might need some help, seek out a consultation. That is a time where you can share what's going on with me, and we can dialogue and decide to go next. The first step is always the hardest and the most worth it!
