About me
I bring extensive training, and over 25 years of experience, to the practice of helping people find solutions to life's vexing problems.
Sometimes what we need most is someone to just listen carefully, and to ask the right questions, as we talk out our problems and discover the solutions that were in us all along. We seldom want someone who pretends to know the solution to every problem; but we do want someone who knows the right questions to ask, and where to look in search of answers. I am that kind of therapist - I believe that we each hold within us the answers to our deepest questions; all we need is some guidance to help us find them.
Each client is an individual, with unique problems and concerns, so I tailor my focus and approach accordingly. I seldom rely on 'talk therapy' alone, turning to immediate experience of body and emotion as additional routes to discovering solutions; this is particularly true when working with couples in distress.
I work well with adult men and women, and with couples, in addressing issues of: anxiety and depression; stress; intimate and family relationship problems; substance abuse; sex addiction and other sexual issues; and anger management.
