About me
25 years of experience providing therapeutic strategies to intervene in the lives of others in a variety of settings has provided me an opportunity to work with youth and families from the grassroots of non-profits that provided social skill training; job placements for juveniles; hunger relief children's programs; HIV/AIDS education and outreach to the community; sanctions for the NCDPS-Juvenile Justice system;and outpatient therapy in a variety of settings for individuals, families, couples (both same sex and heterosexual), group therapy to adults and children, and the elderly in assisted living facilities. Currently serving all populations: adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples.
The counseling relationship is to motivate and provide seeds of change that allow the development of a plan of improvement based on problems identified in individual lives. Family system is used as a way to show the connection between the family of origin and the ones we create. Therapy creates trust by building a therapeutic alliance. You are the expert in your life situation. Allow me to assist you by increasing awareness of positive choices, introducing systematic ways of getting to positive results in treatment, and address barriers when communications are broken and frameworks were boundary reformation can be re-built.
