Dr. Bowier has a history working in various clinical settings including private practice, community mental health, and college counseling centers. She worked as the Coordinator for Sexual Violence and Trauma Treatment at Marquette University and worked as a staff psychologist for Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine Counseling Center. She also held the position of Trauma-Focused Psychologist for the University of California, Santa Cruz Counseling & Psychological Services. In addition to her clinical background, she has completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification and incorporates these trauma-informed methods and teachings into her clinical work when appropriate.

Dr. Bowier was born and raised in Canada and has experience working in various geographical locations, including Illinois, California, Wisconsin, and the West Indies. This has afforded her plenty of experience working with clients with a variety of presenting concerns and various backgrounds. Dr. Bowier works with survivors of trauma, individuals questioning their identities, as well as those presenting with anxiety-related concerns and disorders. As a therapist, Dr. Bowier approaches each client from a holistic perspective, appreciating that individuals cannot be entirely understood in isolation but need to be considered as a sum of numerous interrelated factors. Her theoretical approach is grounded in insight-based and somatic therapies with an emphasis on the relational component. Dr. Bowier values and often implements approaches and techniques focusing on mindfulness and self-compassion, according to the needs of the individuals that she works with.
