About me
I am a licensed professional counselor with over 6 years of experience working with adults and adolescents who have struggled with traumatic experiences.
I am a licensed professional counselor currently practicing within Texas with over 6 years of experience. My specialties include providing services for adults and young adults who have experienced trauma such as sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, community violence, early childhood trauma, and secondary trauma. I also have years of experience with treating other disorders including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, substance use, mood disorders, and sexual issues. I also have experience in supervising counseling major graduates during their completion of course work at the University of Texas at El Paso.
I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso and gained a Masters of Education with a focus in Mental Health Counseling. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize the therapeutic technique to target a wide range of issues to include the treatment of PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, some psychodynamic, motivational, and rational emotive therapy.
Through empathy, safe space, and non judgment, I will work alongside you to create goals and a plan to obtain those goals. I will support you through your experiences within therapy and respond actively to any concerns or questions while exploring your past, present, or future. Creating and maintaining a healthy therapeutic alliance with you is key to helping you get to where you want to be within your therapy journey.
It is okay to start your story today, to seek help and support you need. Mental health wellness can be about breaking down childhood trauma, stressful work environment, feeling constant worry, difficulty with feelings of emptiness or sadness, struggles with communication. We all need a little reminder that there is no wrong time, reason, or explanation for seeing a therapist, I am ready for you!
