About me
I am an experienced adult clinical psychologist in practice for thirty-five years working with a diverse group of individuals who I am constantly learning from.
My clients inform me through the treatment process how to engage in identifying sources of pain, trauma and disconnectedness. And in recovering lost aspects of one’s self.
My approach is intended to optimally suite the agreed upon needs of the client and myself. It can include psychiatric care that addresses aspects of the neurologically based components of an individual’s difficulty.
My training includes Internal Family Systems Therapy, EMDR, Behavioral Sleep Medicine, Chronotherapy, Person Centered Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, CBT/CPT, Gestalt Therapy, IPT, Analytic Therapy and Mood Spectrum Disorders.
Areas of treatment include mood spectrum disorders (no bipolar one nor current substance abuse nor current eating disorders,) early childhood and adult trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, medical illnesses with a mental health component, and spiritual and existential issues.
Most insurances are accepted. No fee for services.
Ages twenty-one through one hundred.
Many patient populations are evaluated and treated including seniors and veterans.
Dr Slier has worked in a variety of hospital and residential settings as well as an on-going private practice setting. He started the PTSD, Behavioral Sleep Medicine and Group Programs at the Naval Medical Center San Diego when it was the largest DOD Program in the country before Walter Reed and Bethesda merged.
I look forward to hearing from you. I wish you good health.
