About me
David A. Kahn, PhD, LPC, LPC/S is the founder, president, and owner of The Counseling Center of Florence, LLC. With more than 30 years of experience providing counseling services for adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing relationship conflict, blended family issues, substance use issues, depression, anxiety, work and social-related issues, and victims of violent crime, he offers a range of techniques and methods appropriate for each client’s individual needs, including person-centered cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), family-systems therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques among others.

Dr. Kahn provides professional seminars and workshops for the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services and other Mental Health Professionals and employee training for area businesses. He travels nationwide to provide trainings and workshops for professional counselors as well as corporate entities interested in improving employee mental health, safety, and satisfaction.
Dr. Kahn’s professional experience includes an array of counseling and educational venues. He is an instructor for Webster University at the Myrtle Beach campus, has served as the Director for Counseling Services for Francis Marion University and also was an instructor there. He has experience with inpatient treatment facilities and has worked as a vocational counselor as well as a school guidance counselor.
He received his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of South Carolina, his Masters degree in Agency Counseling from the North Carolina A&T University, and his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Carolina University. He is both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Supervisor.
