About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. I also hold a Master Addiction Certification with over 15 years of experience in the field. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina-Columbia in Experimental Psychology and obtained my Master of Arts at Rosemont College in Counseling Psychology with a concentration on Addictions. I have completed my PhD in Advanced Studies in Human behavior and I am now currently enrolled in school to earn a PhD in Clinical Sexology with a concentration on Sexual addiction.
My areas of interest include Addictions treatment, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, social skills training, grief, stress management, and life changes. In addition, I work with individuals who identify or may be struggling with identifying as a member of the LGBTQ + community, and individuals struggling with ethnic and cultural diversity concerns.
I am an Air Force Veteran who also enjoys working with active duty service members and Veterans as well. As a therapist, I utilize techniques from cognitive-behavioral theories, motivational interviewing techniques, solution focused therapy and person-centered treatment. I provide a warm and calming demeanor which has served me well in establishing and maintaining rapport with my clients as well as furthering the treatment progress. I am a member of the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of Georgia and I provide clinical supervision for license eligible counselors.
