About me
My work focuses on supporting individuals struggling with mood and personality disorders. I also have significant experience and training working with trauma and its many life-altering effects. I work with both men and women's issues and have a special interest in both. My initial work as a therapist was in the field of addiction and its intersection with mental health.
My goal is to teach you to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings and to take actions that align with your values despite them. I see myself as an active participant in the therapy process and I use a strengths-based, holistic approach to meet you where you are on your own unique life's journey and to help you get unstuck. My therapy of choice is ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), however, there is no one-size-fits-all model and I draw from a variety of approaches catered to you as an individual. I take value and joy in being my authentic self and I strive to help my clients feel the same. I try to move away from the internal and external noise of shoulds/shouldnts, societal prescriptions/timelines, judgements and criticisms, and into living a life based on your own unique values and strengths without judgement.
