Claudia Schmidt, LPC, PMH-C is the owner of New Path Wellness, a private mental health practice providing supportive, inclusive and informative psychotherapy services for women and mothers.

Claudia completed her graduate degree in counseling psychology from Ball State University in 2012 and has been practicing in the mental health field in a variety of contexts for the past 10 years. Claudia is formally trained in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, and Motivational Interviewing. She utilizes multiple treatment applications from these methodologies in practice, and emphasizes a strengths-based and client-led viewpoint.

Claudia’s background includes four years of experience working as a mental health provider at the VA Hospitals in Chicago and Madison, followed by four years providing multiple therapeutic and case management services to community members participating in comprehensive support programs in south-central Wisconsin. Within the past three years, Claudia has continued to provide trauma-informed individual psychotherapy in the private practice setting to young adults, women and mothers with symptoms of anxiety and depression. This professional path, combined with the journey of becoming a mother herself, has provided Claudia a foundation of rich experience, perspective, and heartfelt desire to walk alongside women going through the many complicated transitions of life.
