I have been in practice since 2008 and have worked with children as young as four and adults in their 90s. I work with a variety of presenting concerns, including anxiety, panic symptoms, depression, family and relational issues, trauma-related concerns, as well as issues of spirituality. Depending on client needs and preferences, I can provide brief and goal-directed treatment, or can utilize a more gradual approach to treatment that is trauma-informed.

I have been married for 13 years, and I have three children, and my family and I recently moved to Bellingham, WA from San Diego, CA. I received my Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy at Bethel Seminary San Diego, where I received a year of spiritual integration along with therapeutic and psychological training. Many people have been hurt tremendously by their religious background or by religious institutions; my training sharpened my awareness of my bias to better allow me to set it aside and intentionally operate within your framework. The therapy approaches I utilize are CBT, as well as IFS, and EFT for couples. I employ all these approaches from a person-centered, family systems starting point. My goal is to provide a safe environment for change where we can combine my curiosity, compassion, and training, with your wisdom, resilience and life experience. Some ways that clients have described me include calm, curious, human, easy to connect to, and informative.
Therapy is difficult, but so is feeling stuck, being in overwhelming pain or feeling lost. Just considering doing something different is a risk and by taking the step of engaging in therapy is an act of courage. It’s my goal is to support you by helping you resolve your challenges while honoring your self-determination and dignity as a person.
At this point, I am offering virtual sessions, with a plan to offer in-person sessions in the Whatcom County area.
